Is the Fed Predisposed to a Monetarist View?
Is the Fed buying this more demand-driven account of inflation? Because as you just said, inflation has spread across a broader swath of the economy. Or is it a sort of when you're a hammer, everything looks like a nail situation? So they may recognize the supply side issues, but don't believe that central banks can do anything about it.
