Hegel's Complex Controversy
Hegel's simple contradiction is a unity of opposites so we have two you know terms that are brought together but they're also opposite right in some way. In order to comprehend one you have to comprehend the other and this is true of all social entities. Marx developed the idea of the contradiction from Hegel to match the object of human society, which was more like just thinking or philosophy.
