The Stakes: Defending Leo Strauss ft. Michael Millerman

The American Mind

CHAPTER

Leostrauss Is Not a Universalist

The worst thing that could happen to philosophy was the imposition of one world government along an allegedly rationalistic premise. Leo strauss is an enemy of the open society. He's not a universalist, he's not a globalist. And for sure, he is a socratic. When i teach strauss, i almost always accidentally say socrates instead of strauss. You could helpfully see strauss as the reincarnation of socrates,. It's got nothing to do with neo conservatism and its anti political universalism.
