The Role of Airway Management in Cardiac Arrest
This is a retrospective study, this is not an RCT so we are commenting on associations only here and there will potentially be a lot of unmeasured confounders within this data that we just do not know about. I think from a patient and condition perspective if we remove the sort of training issues around ET tubes and stuff I think this group here have definitely identified a subset of patients who would be more likely to benefit from an ET tube. It's one that you might need to consider as you're moving forward into those refractory or established cardiac arrest where you've got enough resources on scene to really do other stuff with your airway management.
