Are You Reborn as a Result of Your Previous Conduct?

The Buddha himself says that the results of karma is one of the imponderables. We don't know whether we are reborn as a, you know, disabled or ugly because of our previous conduct. I think there are other factors at play which we may know nothing about. But what I do want to say is that we shouldn't jump to this conclusion and say that, ah, you've been reborn this way. That's because this is a punishment for your previous conduct.
