The Language of Choices in Faulkner's Book

I couldn't help but notice some of the language Faulkner uses in this novel is actually very hyper critical and specific let me let me read you a quote here about from like the crash scene she saw the tree blocking the road but she only braced herself anew. It seemed to her to be the logical and disastrous end to the train of circumstances in which she had become involved. She doesn't say she made a choice it didn't say oh I'm worried about the dark or I'm fearful for this she just whirls around she's being flung into these choices. Her whole life is on this collision course with fate because other people are making decisions for her like the judge her lawyers
