Dick is the creator of Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, a therapeutic modality that has seen a recent spike in popularity, especially in the psychedelic therapy space. They discuss the origin story of IFS, how psychedelics affect the parts that comprise the internal family system, what psychedelic research Dick would like to see done, how IFS is used to treat eating disorders, and how IFS might be thought of as a spiritual practice in addition to a psychotherapy model.
