The History of Charlemagne
When you visit today, you are walking through history when you are in this town. That's the beautiful thing about so many parts of Europe is like, it's a park, but there are like sculptures and topiaries and things that have been maintained for hundreds of years. You can see the stone right at the entrance of St. Peter's Basilica. And up until about the mid 1800s, they ruled a large piece of the Italian peninsula. These came to be, these areas came to be collectively referred to as the papal states.
