The Importance of Pursuing New Activities

There's some evidence that learning new things can actually grow these pathways in your brain and make you less likely to become demented. I too have a close relative struggling with dementia. Medicine has given us 20 years of extra life, grosso motor, but has nothing to do yet for Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. Our access to happiness through our absorption in a new activity is just as profound if not more profound at 65 or 70 or 80 as it is when we're kids.
