The Supreme Court's Decision to Overrule the Chevron Doctrine
The Supreme Court will hear a case in the fall about herring fishing. The dispute is over who has to pay for an inspector on your boat. James Carville: It would be like a seven or eight on the jurisprudential Richter scale for the court to say we are no longer going to defer to alphabet soup agencies, often enormously self-serving interpretations of their operating statutes. He says it's incredibly foolish to just say to a bunch of administrative bureaucrats, hey, man, whatever you think would be a good idea, just go for it.
