But he says it's accurate from a sociological perspective that post-war libertarians have largely been housed on the right side of the political spectrum. And even people like Friedrich Hayek and Ludwig von Mises are not reactionaries, writes Zelizer.

He holds a Ph.D. in English literature from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
