For you growing up hell was consistent with the character of god it's what god's about yeah well it was this justice piece that was always at the forefront. For god to be holy means he cannot be around anything unholy ever so without Jesus stepping in on your behalf you're stuck in your unholyness which is to be separated from god forever.
