The Importance of Designing a Processor
Intel is sort of the last holdout of Sisk which is wild because the core itself is really a risk core it's just got this front end on it that understands how to decode all of these complex instructions. Intel did try to make this go away they tried to release a processor called the itanium now many journalists refer to it as the itanic because it sank. They had this idea of making a new processor with a new set of instructions we need new compilers and it's better but nobody bought itbecause it didn't run the software they already had.
