Severe Intensity Exercise - Is There a Reduction in Muscular Function?

During severe intensity exercise, there is a build up of metablates within the muscle. There are receptors within the muscle which are sensitive to those metabolic changes. And as a result, they send signals to the nervous system via what are known as three for aferents. So you can definitely see a reduction to voluntary activation in response to a severe intensity exercise. The nervous system is impacted.
