Is the Overall Project Am in the Right Direction?

There's a lack of communication in those cracks or ar where the bugs will be found, i agree. But it's even more than that. It's the mental model which is different between developers. Even if you're sitting in the same room discussing, because they come from different backgrounds and they see the function through a different perspective,. They might not think about the am issues. So i think this requires looking at security through different perspectives.
