The Sphere of Legitimate Controversy

The sphere of deviance is stuff that most people in your audience would agree that no one should ever say. Then there's the sphere of legitimate controversy, the kinds of things that only some people inyour audience would say. Lots of people will agree with me, and lots of very smart people will disagree with me. But few of them would say to me, shame on you for even entertaining that argument.
