I think that religion is so inherent to who we are as a people and as a world, that it is a cultural institution. And there's this original text, these original wisdom that are still sort of floating in the ether. The way that it's been passed down to us is a very different version than how it was potentially intended or what the original impulse was. I'm not criticizing anything that's been sacred to me or my family. But I'm just curious about what I perceive to be actually a cultural institution."
