A lot of people want their condition has to be the thing that defines them and they want that because they want to have meaning. And it's socially destructive to spend your whole life thinking of yourself as the main character of life like you do when you're a teenager. A lot of this stuff is creating a excuse structure for doing things that we as human beings want to do, but hopefully grow out of. You know, tell me I'm special is certainly not a new phenomenon when we're talking about adolescence and young adulthood and becoming a grown-up.
