An ounce of prevention is worth more than a pound of cure. That's one way via negativa is employed in medicine but applied to the world of self-improvement. It's basically this hypothesis that the best first step you could take is not by adding something new but removing something bad. So we need to get rid of those old habits. We need toget rid of those things that are distracting us so that we can do more productive stuff. Don't start by adding start by removing.
