The Snail and the Spirit Body
All of the juices of the soft body of that snail crystallize into a hard shell, which it carries on its back. So the spirits in the higher worlds in a similar manner crystallize out of out of from themselves the dense material bodies of the different kingdoms. These juicy, snail-y higher bodies so fine and cloudy as to be invisible are by no means emanations from the dense body. But the dense vehicles of all kingdoms correspond to the shell of a snail, which again is crystallized from its juices. And I wanted to add that not all, but a majority of species of snail are hermaphrodite.
