Treatment at the Level of Identification
This chapter discusses the possibility of treatment at the level of identification in neurotics and the inability of this treatment to reveal anything about the knot of the neurotic. The speaker reflects on Lacan's statement that he will not say anything about the knot, but hints at the nature of the neurotic's desire. They question whether the psychoanalyst is complicit in sustaining the neurotic structure by demanding that the neurotic speak to their desire.
