The Hadith Ban of Omar
It doesn't appear to me that Omar, the one who is doubting Abu Gharayla's often, you know, sincerity and honesty. But it seems like he may have assumed, okay, fine, Abu GHarayla, you do know this hadith, but do you have the authority to narrate it like this to people? There are many other examples in Islamic history of when companions rebuked each other for having a different view on something. So again, we see this attitude with Omar, it's not exclusive to Abu Gharera,. It's more reflective of Omar's personality and his scrupulousness.
