The Role of Random Mixing in Learning
People learn from someone who at least has what learns from one person who's found a solution, even if it's only one of the lower performing algorithms. So everyone ends up using an algorithm that solves the task. The process as a whole is optimizing for things that people are likely to discover. They have a high base rate in the population and that it's easy to learn at the next generation,. tend to dominate the process.
