The Economics of Bitcoin and the Technicalities of How It Works
I think it's important to distinguish between the economics of Bitcoin and the technicalities of how Bitcoin actually works. So what I'd like to do is explain the issues with the current global monetary system only briefly because we talked about it a lot when we talked about the history of money. Then basically take as given Bitcoin's technical components and just explain from an economic perspective how Bitcoin purports to solve these issues. The technical issues are relevant to your final question which is what distinguishes Bitcoin from other cryptocurrencies but let's take it one step at a time.
