Nokia laid off 18,000 people but ended up with 33% of new revenues. The company prioritized the interest of employees over that of nocio during this period of time. It's a great example of many things, not least of which is that the learning how to be trusted is a very creative act. And i think lay offs in general probably have that, probably more, at least, you might have better insight on this than almost any other type of management approach.
