Parenting Classes Are Not the Answer to a Family Crisis
When families of means are in crisis, the response around those families is to offer material help. When poor families are in crisis and come under the watch of child protection, the response is very different. It's to say, you've now got to go to parenting classes. You now need serapy. No one would dare tell an upper middle class woman whose child has just been diagnosed with a horrible disease, boay, before you take care of feeding the rest of your family. "You have to help people stay whole before they can even attend to these other problems," she says.
