The Importance of Empathy in a Crisis-Driven Relationship
Grandma told me that dad had suicide after the police had charged him with sexual assault against Amy so this really sort of set up some of the alarm bells we have a significant trauma here. So from a psychiatric point of view issues of attachment were clearly there and I guess it informed me in a way that I had to be really really careful in this therapeutic relationship. The therapeutic content was largely informed by CBT but with the emphasis on the cognitive behavioural therapy, behavioural stuff she wasn't very cognitively tuned in especially in those those first few months and year or so.
