Cory parker and amy laddin became fast friends in florida. Cory was a transplant from up state new york, towering and sweet like a sugar maple. She chose to take classes at the local college and waiting tables at ragtime tavern near jacksonville beach. Amy remembers being tempted to stick around Jacksons Beach for thanksgiving so she could party with her best friend. Both were fiercely independent - cory had just moved into her own apartment. But there was something troubling about her ground floor apartment.
