The Importance of Notational Systems

I started scribbling things that didn't make any sense, but at least the bug was there. I'd much rather be played by other people, which is why the music is published. Do you have a real clear sense in your head of what something should sound like and you want that reproduced? Or do you like it when people take things on to their own path? Well, I have a pretty good idea of how I want the music to go,. But I have to accept the fact that the notational system as we have it, as they exists, is necessarily imperfect.
