Is This a Good Time to Be an American Writer?

In the nineties it seemed as if the world of letters would soon be extinct. The attention span argument, the attention span argument and the fact that the the new technologies really are so designed be so adective. And not coincidentally, i was writing at a time when my second novel hadn't sold well, and i thought, this must be the end of literature. I have no way to know if that's true. But i think we're hearing from voices of all kinds, particularly people of color. And non male writers, non sismale writer. It's much better than i would have guessed 25 years ago.
