Rationalization Is a Way to Deceive Ourself

Rationalization is just a way to create consistency in our thoughts and actions. Often rationalization becomes a way for us to deceive ourselves. We get this irrationalization when we're thinking with cognitive distortions. When we are basing our reasoning on untrue thoughts, we end up with really bad rationalizations. One the most common cognitive distortions is polarize thinking, or all or nothing thinking.
