The Role of the Holy Spirit in Interpreting Scripture
In his historical context, and he's clear about this, right? So I'm not putting these categories into his understanding. He wants the regular Christian to be able to understand the Scripture. Kind of like new special revelation. Like an experience. And so there's this, there's like the mystical type of experience that goes too far in the special revelation and the quakings of the Quakers and the rest. At the same time, there is the sectarians known as the Socinians who don't see any role for the Spirit and only view the Bible through a rational lens. You just need to apply your reason to the text or Scripture. And therefore you get the proper interpretation.
