During undergrad, after his sophomore year and after his junior year at Xavier University, I went to UCSF for two consecutive summer training experiences. So he was there as a you had that experience. But more than that, there's another interesting twist. He worked in the division of experimental medicine that was formerly led by Dr. Joseph McKeon. Mike was building a division that was focused on chronic infections and disease.
