In 1909, King Edward VII traveled from his holiday home in berets to witness the wonder of flight. In France they are hosted by royals and politicians as they begin selling their planes. Rubbing shoulders with millionaires is a way for them to relish the limelight. On one visit to Paris, she becomes only woman ever invited to dinner at Aerocluber de France. Back home in the US, their story is covered almost continuously by newspapers and magazines.
