The Triumph of the Pasht City Council
Some ten thousand gathered in front of the National Museum where Petofy addressed them, again reading off the 12 points in the National Song. With Pash now in revolutionary hands, even more people flocked to the scene and fully twenty thousand proceeded to march across the floating pontoon bridge to Buddha. The Vice Regal Council was the direct representatives of the Habsburgs in the city. Like the Pasht City Council, they capitulated immediately. They ordered the army garrison to not leave their barracks, they signed off on the 12 points, and ordered all political prisoners freed.
