Teddy roosevelt had been an extremely sickly child, plagued by asthma illness and pessimistic prognoses from physicians. He was determined that he would be able to do any thing any of the other boys could do better. A normal asthmatic would have dropped dead from the exertion. But teddy somehow overcame it.
