The Evolution of Consciousness in the Christian Dispensation

Aeneas goes into the underworld, there sees the pitiful state of humanity and for him before the Christian dispensation this stirs up a sense of moral need. Whereas Paul gathers from this sort of exceptional experience, this out-of-body experience, this ecstatic experience is not so much a kind of moral conviction but is a spiritual sight. I like this difference it speaks to what I think is an even of an evolution of consciousness that the Christian Dispensation brings about. In a way Dante is trying to understand and communicate to us which is where we're called as individuals to see all that's possible of divine life and to bring to live it ourselves.
