Tar Palantir and the Scepter in Numenor

Tar Palantir had no son, only a daughter who he named Muriel in the Elvintun. She is the rightful ruler based on the laws of the Numenorians and the passing down of the Scepter. But Farazan takes her two wife against her will. And this is symbolic. He gives up the bringing back of light to Numenor in order to seek riches for himself instead. The series takes some liberties with these characters, of course, but these are, I guess, the template that the series is playing off of here.
