When Pinocchio was released, it wasn't a big hit because World War II was happening at the time. It doubled down because people could really relate to it. The original writer of this story does have free Masonic connections and not saying that as a conspiracy thing. Even Del Toro, I believe at least publicly, he claims that he's an atheist, but he obviously studies esoteric information.
