The very act of having to discursively justify or even claim, you know, inequality as natural. It presupposes that its intelligibility implies equality of intelligence. Frederick Douglass's What to the Slave is the Fourth of July is a classic example of this. And it challenges our distribution of trying to stabilize a social order through roles in these places.
