I get this question all the time. What is the lowest that I can ride to get like endurance adaptations? And I honestly, don't know the answer. Some people have been told their blood lactane concentration is two millimole. This typically puts people around a low sweet spot. If you're pegging it five Watts below zone three, you're not going to be able to do that probably without paying a severe price. But keeping in the total amount of time still seems like a good idea if you can manage and you're not being crushed.
