What's the Difference Between Prevents and Avoids?

Show up is a phrasal verb made up of two parts, show and up. A show is something i might go to see in the west end where people are dancing or singing. But it's not that kind of show we're talking about here? No, it's not. To show up somewhere is to arrive or to appear in that place. Am often in a slightly unplanned way. And you phone up an say, do i need a reservation, or can i just show up? That means arrive apper a, as i said, without necessarily a kind of firm plan.
