We are now up to book seven of plato's republic. Plato great, fourth century b c. A philosopher in athens, sort of recording what it was like to be a disciple of socrates. Socrates left nothing behind that he wrote down. And by the time we get to the republic, we are really dealing with one of his master works. It's the question: would it be good to be a just man, even if he were punished for it? and then we tually move from there to what is justice? In itself.
