The New Testament Doctrine of the Atonement

The promise of God's righteousness is given to those who are in Christ. In the New Testament, Paul characterizes Christ as our representative before God. He does this in two ways: First, there is the corporate solidarity of all of mankind with Christ. And second, he says that one man's trespass led to condemnation for all men.
