The Big Cost Is Transparency and Oversight
Tax avoidance is damaging to our system because it means that the general taxpayers are going to end up paying more. There's no value being created, there's just tax revenue being avoided. Delaware plays a significant role in enabling dark money to flow through our democratic system and into political campaigns. This is a massive enabling industry. So the cost is vast. It's multi-dimensional. It's financial. It's a cost to our democratic system. And it's all re-enabled by the desire of Delaware to be business-friendly.
