I think the presumption of innocence, an inburden of proof on the government to prove guilty on a reasonable doubt are sadly more Hollywood fiction than reality. In my case, in many other cases, the government can freeze your assets. They can lock you up and prohibit bail so you can't defend yourself. But it took something like almost two years before I got an actual trial. It was done in a way that was, again, very unfair and should have been done in a more orderly manner as well in order to preserve investor and partner capital.
