The Search for Meaning and Identity in School

Parents can get in the way of a student's engagement in school if communication processes are too unilateral. By middle school, as we know, our children are really seeking a sense of identity. Everybody deserves to have their voice heard, even though we don't all want it heard in the same way. Everybo needs a sense of agency in order to function in the world.
