Is There a Consistent Pattern?

There are basically two arguments. One is that there isn't a consistent pattern to be discerned in the first place. There's no sort of extended now concerning church polity. And so if you are going to argue that there is a consistent pattern and that it's prescriptive not merely descriptive, you have to do that by discerning a lot of different passages working in a lots of different ways.
