The Gift of History Matters to Theology
A lot of pushback to the book has been at least partially rooted in misunderstanding what history can and can't do for theological variations. I think part of that is because we have been trained that when we approach the bible, especially from sort of this literal understanding, that we take the bible at its word. So can you talk a little bit about what you think the gift of historical study is for the church, for christ ans, for people trying to work out theological questions?
