The Economic Impact of the Extra Bank Holiday
The first coronation in 70 years will formally ring in King Charles III at Westminster Abbey. 2,200 guests will attend roughly a quarter of the number who are at Queen Elizabeth II's 1953 coronation. The extra bank holiday is going to cost the economy about £2 billion but estimates have suggested that tourism, hospitality and souvenirs will bring in more than £1 billion.
